This is the first good cake that I have ever made, absolutely delicious and I’m 11. Nice and simple. Easy bake.

I suggest using parchment paper for easy removal. However, you can butter and flour the cake pan instead.

Hi! I loved your recipe and it’s absolutely delicious! My only question is if I could bake the cake without parchment paper? I think I lined the pan wrong since I made the sheet of parchment paper big enough to cover the sides too. This resulted in crinkles baked into the cake, making it hard to frost nicely. I realize now (after some googling) I might have only had to line the bottom, but is it possible I could just omit parchment paper entirely?

You can bake this in a deep, round 9″ pan or a 9×13″ pan (for slightly shorter).

Yes, decrease the baking temperature by 25 degrees.

I got a new oven it is pure convection ugh. I made one loaf cake and it was a disaster. I’m afraid to try to make any other cakes in a convection oven. I just made your chic chip squares. They are in oven now. Fingers crossed
